INDUSTRY CREDIT GROUPS
WHY SHOULD I JOIN?
Pennsylvania Association of Credit Management has
always been active in the forming and servicing of Industry Credit Groups
and a sizable percentage of our member companies belong to a group. Our
sponsored groups are organized on a local, regional, and national basis
and their primary purpose is to assist the credit executive in making
decisions with respect to the extension of credit based on current and
accurate information.
Credit groups have proven themselves to be a very effective management
tool by providing:
- An opportunity to exchange information on past paying experience of
common customers within a common industry.
- A means of verifying information, reports and other
credit-determining facts which the credit executive can use to his/her
own credit decisions.
- Opportunities to exchange the latest information on department
procedures, equipment and other credit management functions.
- An opportunity to discuss the latest legal rulings pertaining to
business credit management.
Group meetings are monitored by a qualified P.A.C.M. staff
representative and group by-laws are formulated in conjunction with
P.A.C.M. and federal guidelines. These protective measures are established
in order to ensure strict compliance with antitrust laws as they apply to
the extension of credit. Complying with the law affords protection to the
individuals, their companies, the group and P.A.C.M.
